They sport several distinctive characteristics, including bright, petal-like gonads in the center of their bells and a fine stinging fringe that they use to hunt prey. Different foods can transform them into a kaleidoscopic array of colors. If they feed extensively on crustaceans, they'll turn pink or lavender. An orange tint hints that they've been feeding on brine shrimp.
