Mendenhall Glacier and Mountain Goat Cam

Streaming 24/7 1 views this week Added JUL 2026

Camera viewers will see the Mendenhall Glacier and Mendenhall Lake. Will also see nearby Nugget Falls and visitors gathering at the base taking in the views. Occasionally viewers may also get a glimpse of mountain goats on the hillside above the falls or further up on Mount Bullard. Often the goats will be nannies (females) with kids down low, with billy goats (males) tending to be solo and selecting positions higher up. These mountain goats are year-round residents feeding on lichen and vegetation amongst the rocky slopes and develop thick fur coats every fall to cope with the winter conditions. Natural predators in the area for goats are wolves and bears, though few animals can match the skilled balance and traction abilities of the North American mountain goat.

This live stream captures one of Southeast Alaska's most iconic glacial landscapes, where tidewater meets alpine wilderness. Watch as massive ice formations calve into pristine waters while mountain goats navigate impossible cliff faces above—a stunning showcase of nature's raw power and the resilience of wildlife in extreme terrain.
