The Sanford Dam is located on what used to be Sanford Lake. Sanford Lake is located in Mid Michigan. The collapse of the Edenville Dam occurred on May 19, 2020. Wixom Lake was rapidly rising due to heavy rainfall and the Edenville dam could not hold back the water. The side of the earthen dam failed sending water rushing towards Sanford Village.
