Welcome to MayonStream Lab. This is a continuous, real-time autonomous visual monitoring node targeting Mayon Volcano in Albay, Philippines. What started in 2023 as a bootstrapped hardware experiment has evolved through endless trials and volcanic events into a resilient, 24/7 monitoring station. We are constantly pushing code and upgrading hardware to build a better disaster-monitoring tool for the community. This specific node represents our migration to dedicated IP hardware for seamless day-to-night tracking.
This camera provides a dedicated South-Southwest view of Mayon Volcano's upper slopes and summit crater from our monitoring station in Daraga. Equipped with an autonomous IR cut filter for enhanced 24/7 visibility, the system continuously tracks volcanic activity including pyroclastic density currents, rockfalls, and lava effusion through key drainage channels: the Mi-isi Gully (South), Bonga Gully (Southeast), and Basud Gully (East). Watch in real time as one of the Philippines' most active and geometrically perfect volcanoes reveals its dynamic nature—a powerful tool for disaster awareness and scientific observation.
