This 24/7 LIVE stream is a north-west facing camera located at Budle Bay, Northumberland (UK). The small lump on the horizon is actually Holy Island Castle and the distant lights are from the town of Berwick upon Tweed, 15 miles away.
The camera has a wide-angle view, covering a large area of sky, perfect for viewing the stars on a clear night and looking for meteors streaking across the sky. You may be lucky enough to see the northern lights dancing over the bay here too.
Located at 55° North, it doesn't get fully dark in the months of June and July, instead there is continuous twilight throughout the night. These months provide the best conditions to look for elusive noctilucent clouds.
Watch for meteor showers, rare aurora displays, and the midnight sun's twilight glow across the North Sea. This remote Northumberland coastline offers excellent dark-sky conditions for astronomy and natural phenomena.
