El Reventador Volcano Live 4K – Ecuador

Streaming 24/7 1 views this week Added AUG 2026

Welcome to AfarTV's live 4K feed of Volcán El Reventador in Ecuador — the first-ever 24/7 livestream of this remote and highly active volcano.

We are currently running technical tests to tune the camera settings, stream stability, audio, and frame rates. Channel members are welcome to hang out, watch the live volcanic activity, and leave feedback in the chat as we work through any stream glitches.

El Reventador is one of Ecuador's most active volcanoes, famous for frequent explosive eruptions, ash and gas plumes, lava glow, Strombolian activity, and incandescent rockfalls down its steep slopes. The name Reventador translates roughly as "The Exploder" or "The Blaster" — a fitting name for one of the most dynamic volcanoes in South America.

This camera gives us a rare close view of an erupting volcano on the eastern edge of the Andes near the Amazon basin. The volcano is located roughly 90 km / 56 mi east of Quito and rises to approximately 3,562 m / 11,686 ft above sea level.

Reventador's modern active cone sits inside a large 4-km-wide caldera formed by an ancient collapse. The cone is constantly changing as eruptions, lava flows, and collapses reshape the summit area. After a major sub-Plinian eruption in 2002, Reventador entered a long-running eruptive phase, with frequent activity continuing in recent years.

According to recent monitoring reports from Ecuador's official geophysical institution, the Instituto Geofísico de la Escuela Politécnica Nacional / IG-EPN, Reventador remains in an active eruptive state. Recent activity has included frequent seismic explosions, ash and gas plumes reaching up to about 4,300 m / 14,000 ft above sea level, and nighttime Strombolian activity with incandescent blocks and lava activity on the upper slopes.

A huge thank you to Hostería El Reventador for hosting this camera and helping make the project possible. Their location gives us the rare opportunity to place a camera this close to one of Ecuador's most active volcanoes. You can learn more about them here: https://hosteriaelreventador.com/

This livestream offers an unparalleled window into one of South America's most powerful and unpredictable volcanoes. Watch explosive ash columns build in real time, observe the incandescent activity at night, and witness the relentless geological forces reshaping the Andes. Whether you're a volcanology enthusiast, geology researcher, or simply fascinated by Earth's raw power, this 24/7 feed captures the raw intensity of an active stratovolcano.
