Live view of the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan Bridge crossing the East River, with the Lower Manhattan skyline behind them — seen from the Brooklyn waterfront at the Navy Yard in New York City.
This is a working stretch of water. NYC Ferry boats run the East River route all day, tugs push barges under the spans, and police and Coast Guard launches cut across the channel. Behind the bridges you can pick out the Financial District towers and the green copper crown of the Woolworth Building.
The light does the rest — flat and grey in the morning, gold on the cables at sunset, the spans lit over dark water at night. Leave it running.
