Anan Wildlife Observatory Fishing Hole 4 – Alaska

Watch as bears gather at a prime fishing spot. Some carry their fish into the forest, while others eat right on the bank. Bears begin arriving at Anan in June, with peak activity from July through August. They have also been spotted as early in the spring and as late as October. Mama bears will sometimes send their cubs up the tree above the fishing hole for safety. You might also witness bears lining up, patiently waiting for their turn to fish. Bald eagles, ravens, and crows are commonly seen sharing in the feast, adding to the rich ecosystem of Anan Creek.
