The Majete Wildlife Reserve, covering approximately 270 square miles in Malawi's south west, is a mosaic of undulating hills, grassy plains, and mixed woodlands punctuated by star chestnut and mahogany trees.

Majete has been a pioneer for large-scale wildlife reintroductions with over 3,000 animals belonging to 17 species reintroduced over 20 years. Births of wild dog pups, and giraffe and black rhino calves have provided evidence of these species thriving.

This camera overlooks a waterhole and sandy bank frequented by hippopotamuses and other wildlife drawn to this vital water source in the reserve. The view captures the natural habitat and animal behavior that defines Majete's conservation success, offering real-time insight into one of Africa's most important wildlife restoration projects.
