This eagle pair is a success story, part of a bald eagle restoration program started by the Institute for Wildlife Studies in 1980. Their nest has been active since 1991 and has been streaming live since 2005.

The West End Bald Eagle Cam is made possible through an educational partnership between Institute for Wildlife Studies, Montrose Settlements Program, Santa Catalina Island Conservancy, and Explore.org.

Watch two magnificent adult bald eagles at their long-established nest overlooking the Pacific Ocean. This low-angle camera captures intimate moments of the pair—distinguished by their striking white heads, dark plumage, and piercing eyes—as they rest on rocky outcrops surrounded by the island's coastal forest. One bird is marked with an identification band, part of the ongoing wildlife monitoring efforts. This is a living legacy of dedicated eagle restoration work and one of nature's most iconic raptors thriving in their natural habitat.
